Meet our KMS Staff
Gloria Arneson - Lead Teacher, Office Administrator
Gloria has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa. She completed her primary level Montessori training from Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Evanston, IL and is certified in early childhood from AMS. This is her 27th year at KMS. Jo Cole - Lead Teacher, Spanish, Administrator
Jo has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She completed her Montessori training at the Seton Montessori Center in Clarendon Hills, Illinois under the direction of the 2005 AMS Living Legacy recipient, Celma Pinho Perry. Jo has her early childhood certification from the American Montessori Society. This is her 42st year at Kenosha Montessori School. (Contact - school office phone)
Heather Harrison - Lead Teacher
Heather joined KMS in 2016 but has over 20 years teaching experience as a Montessori primary teacher. Heather received her associate’s degree in early childhood from College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois and took additional college credits at Northeastern Illinois University. She attended Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center and has her early childhood associate credential from AMS.
Carol Istvanek - Assistant
Carol completed her Montessori assistant training at the Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Evanston, IL. Carol’s daughters are KMS alumni. This is Carol's 19th year at KMS.
Marianne Giannis - Lead Teacher, Music, Art
Marianne has a bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and continuing education credits from Carthage College. She completed her training from Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center and is certified in elementary I & II (ages 6-12) from AMS. She is a trainer/consultant for Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Deerfield, Illinois. This is her 18th year at KMS. Marianne’s children are KMS alumni. Rachel Lochtefeld - Lead Teacher, French & Spanish
Rachel has a bachelor’s degree in international studies of South Asia from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in dance and dance education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has experience teaching French, dance, drama, and assisting in a Montessori classroom. Rachel has her elementary I & II training at Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in addition to completing coursework at Carthage College for a Wisconsin State teacher certificate in elementary education.

Carlee Arciszewski- Elementary Classroom Assistant
Carlee has an associates degree in business management. We are excited to have her be part of the upper level staff this year!
Dorothy Olsen - Lower & Upper Elementary Physical Education
Dorothy attended University of Wisconsin-Parkside for two years as an English/elementary education major. She has an associates degree as a medical technician from Gateway. She received her Montessori assistant training from Seton Montessori Center. This is her 25th year at KMS. Dorothy's children are KMS alumni and her grandchildren are in the KMS primary level.
