KMS Programs
KMS offers Montessori education for students as young as 2.5 years old through 12 years old (6th Grade).
Lower Level Program
The Lower Level (Primary) Program has two classrooms - the Preschool Program and the Kindergarten Program. The Preschool is a multi-age group of students ranging from the ages of 3 to 6. Children who are 2.5 years old and are fully toilet trained can be enrolled in the program with an interview with the Directress. The Preschool Program is a half day and we offer a morning and an afternoon session. The 3rd level students (Kindergarten) attend school for the full day. Kindergarten students work on 3rd level Montessori lessons in addition to other subjects such as music, art, and physical education.
- Morning Preschool Class - 8:30a to 11:00a
- Afternoon Preschool Class - 12:40p to 3:10p
- Full-Day Kindergarten - 8:30a to 3:10p
Upper Level Program
The Upper Level (Elementary) classroom consists of traditional grades 1-6. The multi-age classroom of students ages 6-12 follows the original model that Dr. Montessori created and lets students learn from each other and be contributing members of a community.
Montessori lessons are presented during the three hour block of work time in the morning. The afternoons are reserved for physical education, music, art, Spanish and projects.
The Upper Level school day begins at 8:20a with dismissal at 3:20p.
Extended Day
The Extended Day Enrichment Program is available for students who need to start before classes start and/or stay longer than their scheduled class and is billed by the hour. Students who stay for Extended Day work on projects, arts and crafts, and individual activities. Available hours are from 7:30am to 5:30pm on school days.
For details on rates and more, refer to the Parent Handbook which has the current school year's information listed or contact the Office.
